Booking & Cancellations

We’re all about fairness—to you and our tutors! Here’s how it works:

  • Cancel with 48+ hours’ notice? No charge! We’ll happily reschedule.

  • Late cancellation/no-show? A £10 fee applies to compensate your tutor’s preparation time.
    Payments are processed securely after each session

  • Lessons can be rearranged to help with anything that comes up - all you have to do is email or phone us to do this!

Are lessons online or in-person?

All EGR Tutoring lessons are conducted online via secure video platforms (like Zoom or Google Meet). This allows you to learn from the comfort of your home—or anywhere with Wi-Fi! No commuting, no hassle, just flexible, high-quality teaching tailored to your schedule. We use a secure learning platform that allows us to have interactive lessons where we work together!

Can I try a lesson before committing?

Absolutely! We want you to feel confident before starting. That’s why we offer a free 30-minute trial lesson with no obligation. It’s a chance to:

  • Meet your tutor and discuss your goals.

  • Experience our teaching style.

  • See how our online platform works.
    If you love it (and we think you will!), you can book regular sessions right after.

How do I book lessons?

Booking is simple! Just:

  1. Contact us via email or phone number.

  2. Schedule your free trial (or first paid session if you’re ready).

  3. Receive a confirmation with a secure payment link (for paid lessons) and a video meeting invite.
    Need to reschedule? No problem—just let us know 48+ hours in advance to avoid fees.

Can I pay for lessons via bank transfer?

Yes! All lessons are paid for through secure bank transfers (also known as BACS payments).

After booking, you’ll receive an email with:

  • Our account name (EGR Tutoring)

  • Sort code and account number

  • A unique reference (e.g., your name + invoice #) to ensure your payment is tracked.

We will not share bank details publicly—we’ll only provide them via email after booking (We will never ask for your bank details unless we are refunding a missed lesson!)

Is there a contract for lessons?

Yes! Our simple, transparent agreement ensures clarity for both of us. It covers:

  • Scheduling, cancellations, and fees.

  • Tutor/student responsibilities (e.g., punctuality, preparation).

  • Data protection policies.
    You’ll receive a copy to review before starting.

Can I cancel the contract anytime?

Absolutely. You can end lessons with 2 weeks’ notice (no hidden penalties).

What’s expected of students?

Just three things:

  1. Attend sessions on time (or give 48h notice for cancellations).

  2. Complete agreed work (e.g., homework/practice).

  3. Communicate! Let us know if you’re struggling or need changes.

What if the tutor cancels a lesson?

We’ll either reschedule ASAP or refund you for the missed session.

How does EGR Tutoring protect my personal data?

We take your privacy seriously! All personal data (e.g., names, contact details, progress records) is:

  • Stored securely on password-protected systems.

  • Used only for tutoring purposes (e.g., scheduling, progress tracking).

  • Never shared with third parties without your consent, unless required by law.
    We comply with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

What data do you collect, and why?

We only ask for what’s necessary:

  • Contact info (to schedule lessons and send updates).

  • Academic details (to tailor lessons to your level).

  • Session notes (to track progress).
    You can request access to or deletion of your data anytime.

Are online lessons recorded?

No—we don’t record sessions without prior agreement. If recording is needed (e.g., for student review), we’ll ask for written consent first.
